The Danger Zone gives you full control over your company's data — back it up for safekeeping, restore it from a previous backup, or permanently delete the company. All actions here are irreversible, so proceed with care.

Go to Settings → Danger Zone

Only the company owner (the user who created the company) can access Danger Zone actions.

Backing Up Your Data

A backup exports all your company's business data — contacts, items, invoices, bills, payments, accounts, and more — into a single JSON file you can download and keep.

What is included in the backup:

  • Contacts, items, and accounts
  • All transactions: invoices, bills, estimates, sales orders, purchase orders, credit notes, debit notes, payments, expenses, journals, vouchers, refunds
  • Taxes and non-identity settings

What is NOT included:

  • Company identity and localisation (company name, logo, address, currency, date format, etc.) — these belong to the company and are not overwritten by a restore
  • Users, roles, and permissions
  • Subscription information

How to Create a Backup

  1. Go to Settings → Danger Zone
  2. Click Create Backup
  3. The backup is generated in the background — the page will update automatically when it is ready
  4. Click Download to save the .json file to your device

Backup files expire after 24 hours. Download your backup promptly after it is created.

You can create a new backup at any time. Previous backups are shown below the button.

Restoring Data from a Backup

Restoring replaces all your current business data with the data from the backup file. Your company identity (name, logo, currency, etc.) is not affected.

Warning: This action permanently deletes all existing business data in this company before importing the backup. It cannot be undone.

How to Restore

  1. Go to Settings → Danger Zone
  2. Click Restore Data
  3. Select your .json backup file
  4. Type RESTORE in the confirmation field
  5. Click Restore Data to begin

The restore runs in the background. You will be redirected to the dashboard automatically when it completes.

Restoring to a Different Company

Backups are portable — you can restore a backup created from one company into a completely different company. All internal references (accounts, taxes, contacts, etc.) are automatically remapped so there are no conflicts.

Deleting Your Company

Permanently deletes the company and all its data. This cannot be undone.

Conditions that must be met before deletion:

  • You must be the owner of the company (the user who originally created it)
  • The company must not have an active subscription — cancel your subscription from the Billing page first

How to Delete

  1. Go to Settings → Danger Zone
  2. Click Delete Company
  3. Enter your company name exactly as shown
  4. Enter your account password
  5. Click Delete Company

After deletion you will be redirected to your companies list. If this was your only company, you will be signed out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I restore a backup to a different company?
Yes. Backups are fully portable. All IDs are remapped automatically during restore so there are no conflicts with existing data in the target company.

Will restoring change my company name, currency, or logo?
No. Company identity and localisation settings are preserved during a restore. Only your business data (invoices, contacts, accounts, etc.) is replaced.

My backup link has expired — can I download it again?
No — backup files expire after 24 hours. Create a new backup to get a fresh download link.

I can't delete my company — it says I have an active subscription.
Cancel your subscription from Settings → Billing first, then return to Danger Zone to delete.

Who can perform Danger Zone actions?
Only the company owner (the user who created the company). Admin users do not have access to these actions.

What happens to other users when I delete the company?
They lose access to the company immediately. Their user accounts are not deleted — they can still access any other companies they belong to.
